Unseen 2007 Prince Las Vegas Concert Film Hits Movie Theaters in 4K Dolby Atmos With Career-Spanning Setlist
A previously unreleased 154-minute concert film documenting musical icon Prince at the peak of his mid-2000s live resurgence is officially heading to the big screen. Titled Prince: 3121 Las Vegas Concert, the full-length feature receives a limited theatrical release on December 3, fully restored in 4K resolution with immersive Dolby Atmos audio.
Tickets for the theatrical run go on sale nationwide on November 11, with participating theater locations confirmed ahead of opening night. Recorded on January 20, 2007, the concert captures Prince during his celebrated Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino residency in Las Vegas.
The setlist spans decades of genre-defining hits, featuring live renditions of classics such as “Kiss,” “Cream,” “U Got the Look,” “If I Was Your Girlfriend,” and “Purple Rain.”
Inside the 2007 Era: Peak Momentum and the Road to Miami
Prince mounted his Las Vegas residency between November 2006 and April 2007, riding a massive wave of critical acclaim and commercial momentum. The run was fueled by his 2006 studio release 3121, which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 and secured five Grammy nominations.
The filmed January 2007 show captures an essential historical window. Prince took the Las Vegas stage just weeks before delivering his legendary rain-soaked halftime show at Super Bowl XLI in Miami.
While many concertgoers assume mid-2000s Prince residencies relied purely on studio backing tracks, the 3121 shows proved the exact opposite. Every solo, dynamic horn blast, and vocal harmony was delivered raw and unfiltered in close quarters.
The 3121 Expansion: Box Set, Vinyl, and Archival Releases
The theatrical premiere anchors an extensive physical and digital archival campaign orchestrated by the Prince Estate. On December 11, an expanded edition of 3121 arrives across vinyl, CD, and streaming platforms, bundled with a standalone Blu-ray disc of the Las Vegas concert film.
The expanded box set includes seven previously unreleased tracks, alongside stripped-down acoustic recordings of “The Word,” “Love,” and “Te Amo Corazon.” Ahead of the box set, a separate live album arrives on November 27 to celebrate Record Store Day.
Vocalist Tamar Davis, who collaborated extensively across the album sessions and toured with Prince in intimate venues throughout 2006, highlighted the creative energy of the era.
“Collaborating with Prince and the talented musicians on ‘3121’ was an honor. I remain grateful to have contributed my voice to this record and to have been part of such a remarkable creative experience.”

From the Big Screen to Broadway: The Catalog’s Next Chapter
The theatrical rollout also sets the stage for Prince’s music to take over New York theater district. A stage musical adaptation of the 1984 cinematic masterpiece Purple Rain is bound for Broadway following its initial 2025 stage run in Minneapolis.
Previews for Purple Rain begin on March 12, 2027, at the historic Majestic Theatre in New York City, followed by an official opening night on April 12, 2027. The production features roughly 20 songs from Prince’s songbook, with cast members playing their instruments live on stage.
Between 4K theatrical screenings, unreleased vault cuts, and stage adaptations, the estate continues to showcase the unprecedented depth of his musicianship.
