Former 19 Kids and Counting star Jessa Duggar Seewald is expecting her seventh child with husband Ben Seewald. The reality television alumna confirmed she is currently six weeks along, making the surprise announcement during an appearance on Matt and Abby Howard’s Unplanned Podcast.

The news comes just over a year after the arrival of the couple’s sixth child, once again expanding one of television’s best-known modern families.

The revelation surfaced in a preview clip ahead of the couple’s appearance on the show. Host Matt Howard visibly reacted with disbelief when Jessa casually dropped the life update during their sit-down interview.

“We’re actually expecting again,” Jessa stated during the recording.

“What?” Matt replied.

“Yeah, six weeks pregnant with number seven,” Jessa confirmed.

“When it comes to people saying negative opinions, I know this is not the case for everyone, but for me personally, I’ve never had anybody walk up to my face and be nasty. I have heard a lot of rude and unnecessary comments, but generally those are just online.”

A common misconception among spectators is that Jessa aims to match her mother’s exact record of 19 children. Jessa dismissed that narrative directly while honoring her mother’s parenting legacy.

“I’m not going to have 19 kids, but honestly, my mom is my hero. I love her. I adore her [and] she is my role model in so many ways. Her patience, her love, her gentleness [and] her kind speech. She is the golden example of a mother, in my opinion. So, when people say, ‘Do you want to be like your mother?’ I’m like, ‘Yes, please, Lord, help me.’ ”

The decision to build a bustling household was never accidental. Prior to their wedding ceremony in late 2014, the couple openly discussed their shared vision for a big family.

During their courtship, both Jessa and Ben confirmed that expanding their family through both pregnancy and adoption remained long-term priorities.
