Meet the Men Who Married the Duggar Daughters: Inside the Careers, Family Lives, and Next Chapters of the 5 Husbands

Five of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s nine daughters have married and started families of their own, building lives that look vastly different from one another. While millions first watched their strict courtships unfold on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting between 2008 and 2015, the men who entered the family fold represent an eclectic mix of backgrounds.

From an ordained Baptist pastor and an aviation professional to a former pro soccer player and a military recruit, each spouse has steered his household in a distinct direction. Today, all five married Duggar daughters are parents, navigating public memoirs, career shifts, and expanding families.

Here is an in-depth breakdown of the five husbands, their work, and where they stand today.

Stephen Wissmann: Construction Professional and Musician

Jim Bob and Michelle’s eldest daughter, Jana Duggar, wed Stephen Wissmann on August 15, 2024, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. The pair originally met when they were children before later reconnecting.

Much like his wife, Stephen is accustomed to large family dynamics, having grown up alongside 12 siblings. Professionally, he works for his family’s enterprise, Wissman Enterprises, and performs in their family musical ensemble, the Wissmans.

“I know we have a big crazy family and [that requires] still kind of putting up with a lot of things. I’m like, my goodness, there are not too many people that do that. He must really, I guess, genuinely care about me, and I haven’t seen that.”

The couple expanded their home with the birth of their first child, son Archie Gerald, on December 30, 2025.

Derick Dillard: Legal Background and U.S. Military Service

Jill Duggar Dillard was the first of the siblings to tie the knot, marrying Derick Dillard on June 21, 2014, in front of a 1,000-guest ceremony that aired on television. Their courtship originally began in 2013.

Together, the couple shares three sons: Israel David, Samuel Scott, and Frederick Michael. Over the years, Jill and Derick deliberately stepped back from her parents, addressing that distance following the October 2023 release of her memoir, Counting the Cost.

In April 2026, Derick took a brand-new professional turn by joining the U.S. Marine Corps. The transition prompted the family of five to relocate for training across Virginia and Rhode Island.

Ben Seewald: Baptist Church Pastor

Just months after Jill’s wedding, Jessa Duggar married Ben Seewald on November 1, 2014. At the time of their televised ceremony, Jessa was 22 and Ben was 19.

Ben serves as the pastor of a Baptist church located in Springdale, Arkansas. The couple has built the largest immediate family among the sisters, currently raising six children: Spurgeon, Henry, George, Edward, Ivy Jane, and Fern.

In October 2026, Jessa announced that their household is growing once again, confirming she is expecting baby number seven.

Jeremy Vuolo: Former Athlete and Ordained Minister

Jinger Duggar tied the knot with Jeremy Vuolo on November 5, 2016, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, following a courtship that started earlier that June. Jeremy’s father, Chuck, officiated the ceremony.

Jeremy brings an athletic background to the family as a former professional soccer player, in addition to being an ordained pastor. The couple shares three children: daughters Felicity and Evangeline Jo, and son Finnegan Charles.

Jeremy and Jinger have also broken away from the teachings of the Institute in Basic Life Principles, the organization central to her childhood. Jinger addressed this theological departure directly in her books, Becoming Free Indeed (2023) and People Pleaser (2025).

“My faith is still intact, but it has changed. Instead of leaving the faith entirely, I’ve been disentangling it.”

Austin Forsyth: Contractor and Aviator

Joy-Anna Duggar married Austin Forsyth on May 26, 2017, after building a strong foundation as friends for 15 years prior to their courtship.

Austin works in the construction industry and holds an active pilot’s license. Together, they have three children: sons Gideon Martyn and Gunner, and daughter Evelyn Mae.

The Forsyth household is also set to expand, having announced in September 2026 that they are expecting their fourth child.

Comparing the Duggar Husbands

A widespread misconception is that all the Duggar sons-in-law stepped into identical, television-centric lifestyles under the umbrella of Jim Bob Duggar’s business interests. The reality shows significant variety in their vocational choices and geographic mobility.

Husband Primary Career / Background
Stephen Wissmann Wissman Enterprises employee and musician
Derick Dillard U.S. Marine Corps recruit and author collaborator
Ben Seewald Baptist church pastor in Springdale, Arkansas
Jeremy Vuolo Former professional soccer player and ordained minister
Austin Forsyth Construction professional and licensed pilot

💬 As these couples enter new seasons of life, their career choices and family milestones continue to evolve away from reality TV cameras.
