The Voice Replaces Knockouts With Brutal Cut Week: Here Are the 12 Artists Advancing to Live Shows

The Voice completely overhauled its postseason roadmap by ditching the traditional Knockout rounds in favor of an unforgiving new elimination format known as Cut Week. Coaches Queen Latifah, Adam Levine, Riley Green, and Kelly Clarkson were forced to slash their rosters from seven singers down to just three, instantly setting the field for the NBC live shows.

Under this high-pressure twist, each coach handed automatic passes to two standout performers before forcing the remaining five artists to sing for their survival to claim the single remaining spot.

The sudden change caught longtime viewers off guard, replacing weeks of head-to-head pairings with a single night of sweeping eliminations.

How the Cut Week Elimination Process Worked

Many fans assumed the show would follow its standard multi-week elimination path, but the introduction of Cut Week radically accelerated the competition timeline.

Instead of standard one-on-one matchups, each coach operated under a direct two-phase selection system:

  • Phase 1: Coaches immediately advanced two artists straight to the live shows without requiring them to sing on elimination night.
  • Phase 2: The remaining contestants performed back-to-back in a sudden-death playoff for the coach’s third and final roster spot.
  • Fan Save: Viewers were granted an immediate opportunity to vote one additional eliminated artist back into the live competition.

Team-by-Team Breakdown: Who Survived the Cuts?

Team Queen Latifah

Queen Latifah opened the night by locking in Mia Knight and BigCountry with automatic bids. When the playoff round wrapped, Latifah selected Lillie Kolich to complete her trio.

“The person that I’m choosing I think has something that they would really add to my team and I’m hoping that you continue to do super special and unique things. That person is going to be Lillie.”

Team Adam Levine

Adam Levine moved quickly, declaring Lexi Stephens the “strongest singer in this competition” alongside Connor Closs for his two automatic berths. For his final selection, Levine opted for rock power by advancing Dakota.

“If I’m being honest with you guys it was a coin flip for various reasons. My decision today is Dakota. There aren’t enough female rock singers kicking ass on the show this season. She has a super cool voice. She deserves it.”

Team Riley Green

Country star Riley Green tapped Cade Mower along with duo Ferryn & Brinkley for his automatic advancing spots. After the remaining contestants sang, Joe Henley earned a standing ovation from all four coaches, sealing his spot on Team Riley.

Green praised Henley’s performance directly, noting that when he saw the song selection, he knew Henley would take it if delivered cleanly.

Team Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson advanced Koumba Diallo and Anna McElroy straight into the live rounds. Her third and final slot went to Brianna Cameron following an electrifying audition that earned high praise from the coach.

Clarkson compared Cameron’s vocal ability to a young Whitney Houston, pointing out that Cameron delivered something the veteran coach had never witnessed before on stage.

The Complete Cut Week Roster Heading into Live Shows

The shakeup finalized the initial 12-artist lineup across all four red chairs before the fan vote totals were factored in.

Adam Levine Lexi Stephens, Connor Closs, Dakota
Riley Green Cade Mower, Ferryn & Brinkley, Joe Henley
